ESWL Treatment

What is ESWL ?

Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) is a non-invasive medical procedure used to treat kidney stones and other stones in the urinary tract. Its used for stones located in the kidney or upper ureter. The technique uses shock waves to break stones into smaller pieces, which can then pass through the urinary tract and be expelled from the body more easily.

    What is ESWL Treatment ?

The procedure utilizes high-energy shock waves generated outside the body. These shock waves are precisely focused on the kidney stone using imaging techniques such as X-rays or ultrasound, travel through the body and break the stone into smaller, sand-like particles. The smaller stone fragments pass through the urinary tract and are expelled in the urine over time. Most effective for stones less than 2 cm in diameter
