Laparoscopic: Small incisions are made, and a laparoscope (a thin tube with a camera) is inserted to remove the ectopic pregnancy. The fallopian tube may be repaired or removed if damaged.
Laparotomy: A larger incision is made in the abdomen, usually performed in emergency situations if there is significant internal bleeding.
