A Bartholin cyst is a fluid-filled swelling that develops in the Bartholin glands, which are located on either side of the vaginal opening. These glands secrete fluid that helps to lubricate the vagina. When the ducts of these glands become blocked, fluid can accumulate and form a cyst.

Incision and Drainage: A minor surgical procedure where a small cut is made in the cyst to allow it to drain. Local anesthesia is typically used.
Bartholin gland removal: Bartholin gland might be recommended to be removed. Although, it is very rare and depends on the severity of the condition. Surgical removal of the gland carries a risk of bleeding or complication after the procedure.
Marsupialization: A surgical procedure that creates a permanent opening for drainage. The edges of the cyst are stitched to the skin to form a small, permanent drainage opening.
